GIRLS BASKETBALL
Central picked up a 55-38 win at Blackford. Jayla Scaife had a double-double for the Bearcats, scoring a team-high 17 points while also leading her team with 11 rebounds. Ke’Chell Tate scored 15 points for the Bearcats and teammate Fa’Tara Davis added 12. Maggie Weeks-Foy led Blackford with 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds.
Yorktown pulled away to a 47-25 win against Winchester. Katy Johnson paced the Tigers with 18 points.
GIRLS SWIMMING
Central finished in third place out of 10 teams in the NCC Meet on Saturday. The Bearcats took first in the 200 free relay, while the 400 free relay placed third with a time of 4:04.20.
BOYS SWIMMING
The Central boys swimming team took third place in the NCC Meet on Saturday, taking three first place finishes in the process. Those were the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:43.73, the 400 free relay with 3:24.29 and Cullen Tyler took first in the 100 breaststroke with 1:01.16.
