Delta’s Bechdolt, Winchester’s Enis qualify for state

Delta’s Mason Bechdolt won the 110 hurdles at the North Central boys track regional on Thursday. He and Winchester’s Kiante Enis were the two athletes from East Central Indiana to advance to the state meet.

Bechdolt ran a time of 14.63 seconds in the 110 hurdles to win the event. The top three finishers in each event qualify for the state meet, which will be held June 5 in Bloomington.

Bechdolt also qualified for state in the 300 hurdles, where he ran a time of 39.13 seconds to finish second. Enis qualified for state in the 100, where he ran a time of 11.06 seconds to finish third on Thursday.

Bechdolt, a senior, finished third in the 110 hurdles at state last season as a junior.

Yorktown’s 1,600 relay was among the top ECI performances that didn’t advance to state. The Tigers ran a time of 3:25.43 to finish fifth in that event. Daleville’s David Dillon finished sixth in the 800, posting a time of 1:59.63. Yorktown’s Dawson Allen was seventh in the 200 with a time of 22.86 seconds. Central’s Dominique Hood took seventh in discus at 140-feet-5-inches.

Central finished eighth in the 3,200 relay with a time of 8:25.39. The Bearcats’ Jeremiah Bailey finished ninth in the long jump at 21-0. Yorktown’s Brandt Applegate was 10th in long jump at 20-7.

Central’s Keydrick Carter finished 10th in the 200 with a time of 23.61 seconds. Teammate Gino Taylor tied for 10th in high jump at 6 feet. Monroe Central’s Joshua Randall finished ninth in the 300 hurdles at 41.38 seconds, and New Castle’s Dillon Cline was 10th in discus at 133-7.
