SOFTBALL
Wapahani’s Sara Masters picked up Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association second-team All-State honors. Masters hit .481 with seven home runs this season.
Wapahani’s Sara Masters was selected to play for the South team in the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association North-South All-Star game on June 27 in Carmel.
Yorktown’s Grace Lumpkin was selected to the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association All-District team.
Wapahani’s Katelyn Buchanan was selected to the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association’s Academic All-State team.
Delta’s Ericka Pursley was named an Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association Academic All-State honorable mention. Wapahani’s Jesse Jones and Yorktown’s Katy Johnson and McKenzie Slagle were also so honored.
Hoosier Heritage Conference champion Yorktown had three players named to the All-Hoosier Heritage Conference team. The Tigers’ Kara Tucker, Grace Lumpkin and Katy Johnson were so honored. New Castle’s McKinley Duvall and Zoe Curtis also made the team, as did Delta’s Angie Naaman and Ericka Pursley. The Eagles’ Logan Bland, Emily Thompson, Micaya Richardson and Haille Workman each earned honorable mentions, as did Yorktown’s Haley Hill and Morgan Masters and New Castle’s Harley Walls and Mariah Nicholson.

Delta’s David Smekens, Monroe Central’s Austin Jones, New Castle’s Jackson Haynes, Yorktown’s Carson Moore, Yorktown’s Ryan Morrow, Central’s Parker Phelps, Central’s Sam Cavanaugh, Monroe Central’s Kaiser Phillips, Central’s Dominique Hood and Delta’s Luke Overfield have been selected to play for the East team in the Indiana Football Hall of Fame East-West Football Classic at 7 p.m. tonight at Anderson High School.
