TRACK AND FIELD
Monroe Central alum Marcus Drummer signed to compete for Indiana University East in Richmond. Drummer was also a key football player and multi-event athlete with the Golden Bears. He reported top marks of 11.1 second in the 100 meter dash, 22.9 in the 200 meter dash, 51.8 in the 400 meter dash and 19-0 in the long jump.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Central’s Jayla Scaife scored a team-high 15 points in the Junior Girls Team 1’s 89-86 loss to Junior Girls Team 2 in the Indiana Class All-Star Classic last Friday at Anderson University. Scaife shot 6 of 14 and added a game-high 10 rebounds. Wapahani’s Kambrey Jolley had four points in the Junior Girls Team 4’s 107-92 win over Junior Girls Team 3.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Central’s Phillip Corthen scored five points in Junior Boys Team 1’s 109-105 loss to Junior Boys Team 2 in the Indiana Class All-Star Classic last Friday at Anderson University. Central’s Andre Jones put up 14 points and eight rebounds in the Junior Boys Team 3’s 127-123 loss to Junior Boys Team 4. New Castle’s Kyle Bumbalough had eight points in 4A3A Boys Team Wilkerson’s 135-128 loss to 4A3A Boys Team Benson.
