Central swept Westfield (25-21, 25-23, 25-17) as Virginia Wilhoite (20), Micah Leavell (16) and E’laisah Young (12) all reached double figures in kills. Lacee Adams had 49 assists.
Winchester came back from being down 2-0 to snag the last three sets against Northeastern (22-25, 20-25, 25-22, 25-16, 15-8). Shelby Miller put up 15 kills for the Golden Falcons.
BOYS SOCCER
Yorktown fell to Pendleton Heights 2-1 Tuesday. Luke Bryan scored the Tigers’ lone goal in the second half, which was assisted by David Darling.
BOYS TENNIS
Yorktown edged past Burris 3-2. The Tigers’ Ian Landwehr shut out his opponent at No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-0. Ben Adams picked up the 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles for the Owls.
Blue River fell to Eastern Hancock 4-1. Donnie Lamberson pulled out the Vikings’ lone victory at No. 1 singles 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (7-1).
Central defeated Shenandoah 3-2. With the match even at 2-2, Brock McCoy and Brody McCoy pulled out a 7-5, 6-4 victory at No. 2 doubles.
GIRLS GOLF
Central and Wapahani competed in a triangular meet against Shenandoah, with Central placing second (201) and Wapahani placing third (215). Olivia Phillips led the Bearcats, shooting a 44. Abbie Snider was the leader for the Raiders, shooting a 51.
New Castle finished second with 196 points in a triangular meet against Hagerstown and Knightstown. Olivia Porter was the Trojans’ leading scorer, shooting a 47.
