Prep Roundup: DiBiasio reaches 1,000 kills

VOLLEBALL

Central was ranked No. 8 in 4A in the latest IndianaPrepVolleyball.com media poll. Yorktown maintained its No. 1 ranking in 3A, while Delta stayed at No. 4. Wes-Del jumped to No. 1 in 2A and Wapahani rose two spots to finish at No. 5. Monroe Central was tied for 10th in 2A.

Monroe Central led all teams with four players named to the Randolph County Volleyball Tournament All-County team on Saturday. Zoee Kear, Morgan Haney, Katarina DiBiasio and Jordan Barga made the list from Monroe Central. Winchester had Kirklyn Keener and Macy Stephenson, Union had DeAnn Kauffman, MacKynsea Burke and Rylee Davis.

Monroe Central defeated Anderson 25-17, 25-15, 25-18. Katarina DiBiasio had a team-high 16 kills and added 15 digs for the Golden Bears, also reaching 1,000 career kills.

Blue River defeated Cowan 25-16, 25-23, 9-25, 25-16. Diana Campbell led the Vikings with 14 kills, Gabriella Harrington was second with 12 and also added 18 assists.

BOYS TENNIS

No. 6 ranked Delta defeated Mount Vernon 7-0, ending the regular season with a record of 18-1. Eagles No. 3 singles player Jacob Wegener won his match 6-0, 6-0, while No. 1 singles player Alec Robillard won 6-1, 6-1.

Burris defeated Anderson Prep 5-0. Joseph Patashinsky defeated his opponent 6-0, 6-0.

BOYS SOCCER

Yorktown defeated Burris 2-0. Brevin Smith had two goals for the Tigers, while Ricky Torres had five saves for the Owls.

GIRLS SOCCER

Burris fell to Centerville 7-0. Taylor Hunt had 11 saves during the game and surpassed 100 saves on the season despite missing three games due to injury.
