In a game that started late, Central couldn’t keep up with one of the stronger teams in the state.
The Bearcats fell 56-40 at Fort Wayne Snider to move to 1-2 on the season. Central had led by three points at halftime, but the Panthers proved to be too much.
Phillip Corthen led Central with 14 points. Casey Thompson had eight points.
•Delta 48, Cowan 28: Clayton Kiplinger led the Blackhawks with eight points. Tre Simmons and Breydn Weston each added five points. Cowan’s head coach Lee Ingles notes that there is improvements to be made.
“We need to rebound the ball better,” Ingles said. “Tonight was just one of those nights when the ball didn’t fall. We just need to shoot better.”
•Heritage Hall 75, Tabernacle Christian 49: Brayden Karnes led the team with 22 points. Skylar Posey added 19 points. Grant Prewitt had 16 points and eight rebounds.
•Yorktown rolls past Burris: The Tigers pulled away in the second half scoring 42 after the break on the way to a 67-33 victory at home. Although Yorktown (2-1) struggled from outside the arc (3-for-16 shooting), it found success inside.
Center Riley Neal hit all 11 of his shots on the way to 23 points and 12 rebounds, while Riley Miller added 13 points, including a pair of 3s. For the day, The Tigers hit 49 percent of their shots.
• Blue River 53, Tri 42: Noah Madison led the Vikings with 28 points. Josh Berry added seven points and Jonah Madison had six points.
