BASEBALL

Central fell to Pendleton Heights 9-1. Austin Hirons had a double for the Bearcats. Central’s Joseph Scruggs hit a solo home run.

Blackford lost to Elwood 7-1. Brandon Barkdull and Dayton Dow each earned one hit.

BOYS TRACK

Central placed second in a triangular meet against Marion and Norwell. Bearcats’ Deavon Jackson won the 400 and Jesse Privett took the 800. Central’s Dominique Hood earned first place in discus. Andre Wells won the 110 high hurdles, while Gino Taylor and Jeremiah Bailey took first place in the high jump and long jump.

GIRLS TENNIS

Central swept Blue River, not conceding more than two games in any match. Virginia Wilhoite and LaShonica Smith won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles. Viveka Melo was also among the Bearcats’ winners at No. 3 singles.

Delta swept Fort Wayne Concordia 7-0. The Eagles’ Maggie Thompson defeated her opponent 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. Delta’s No. 1 doubles team of Teaghan Dishman and Kaylin Gibson only conceded one game in each set.

Jay County won all five matches against Randolph Southern. Jessica Kerrigan and Kyra Braun both defeated their opponents 6-0, 6-0. Kerrigan played No. 1 singles and Braun played No. 2 singles.

Winchester beat Union City 4-1. The Golden Falcons’ McKenzie Winger and Leah Wren only gave up one game during their No. 1 doubles victory.

Yorktown defeated Shelbyville, taking the Tigers to 11-2 in the season. The Tigers’ Kate Avila did not lose any games in her win at No. 2 singles. Teammate Hannah Bowman won her match 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.

GIRLS TRACK

Central earned second place in a triangular meet against Norwell and Marion. Central’s Shelby Haggard won the 400 while Jayla Scaife took first place in the 100 and 200. Both Scaife and Haggard were part of the winning 1,600 relay.

BOYS GOLF

Jay County pulled out a victory against Southern Wells 170-224. Jay Houck shot 39 for the Patriots, making him the medalist of the event.

Wapahani defeated Blue River 169-252. The Raiders’ Connor Hensley was the overall medalist of the match, shooting 39.

SOFTBALL

Yorktown picked up a 3-0 win against New Castle. Grace Lumpkin pitched a complete-game shutout for the Tigers, and went 3-for-3 with a double at the plate. Jenna Irelan connected for a two-run home run and also had a single.

Cowan fell to Hagerstown 18-1. Blackhawks pitcher Alyssa Mead hit a double for her team.

Daleville lost to Mississinewa 12-6. The Broncos’ Abbi Gabriel had a pinch-hit single to drive in two runs.
