BOYS SWIMMING
<QC>
Central edged Pendleton Heights 108-77. Alec Hale (200 freestyle, 500 freestyle), and Cullen Tyler (100 butterfly, 100 breaststroke) each won multiple individual events for the Bearcats. Cameron Ottinger won the 50 freestyle. Ottinger, Tyler and Hale were each on two winning relays.
James Keen finished first in the 50 free, swimming a 25.82. He also won the 100 back, finishing at 1:00.98. Cody White also took two individual events, finishing first in the 200 IM and the 400 free. He swam a 2:31.75 and 4:54.63 respectively.
Delta finished ahead of New Palestine and Yorktown. Andrew Torres finished first for Delta in the 200 IM at 2:12.85, as well as the 100 fly, finishing with a 58.01. Jack Hart also won two events for Delta. He took first in the 50 free with 23.06 and the 100 free with a 51.6.
Alexander Nickoli won two events for Yorktown. He finished at the top for the 200 free, swimming a 1:54.65. He took first in the 500 free as well, coming in at 5:12.83.
GIRLS SWIMMING<QC>
Central fell to Pendleton Heights 125-61. Kayla Beaty (200 freestyle), Shelby Haggard (100 freestyle) and Elianor Priebe (100 breaststroke) each finished second in an individual event.
Jay County defeated Bluffton 119-67, sweeping all events. Alex Bader won two events for the Patriots, finishing at 2:37.26 in the 200 IM and 1:12.64 in the 100 fly. Sophie Bader also had two individual wins, finishing with a 28.90 in the 50 free, and a 1:03.68 in the 100 free.
Yorktown finished first against Delta and New Palestine. Delta followed in second. Elle Nowakowski finished first for Yorktown in both the 200 free at 2:13.26 and the 100 fly, finishing at 1:06.95. Katie Keller was also a double winner for the Tigers. She finished first in the 50 freestyle at 26.13 and the 100 back, coming in at 1:01.6. Vanessa Miller finished second in diving for Delta. She scored 192.7.
GIRLS BASKETBALL<QC>
Central picked up a 51-37 win against Monroe Central. Fa’Tara Davis had a double-double for the Bearcats with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Hadassah Harris and Jayla Scaife each scored 11 points for Central. Mikaela McGrath paced Monroe Central with 11 points, and teammate Emmarae Roberts was close behind with 10.
Union defeated Mississinawa Valley 63-41. DeAnn Kauffman led the Rockets with 25 points. Faithlan Ellis added 12 points. Elena Trojenova had eight rebounds.
Wapahani pulled away from Burris, 76-29. Payton Lee led the Raider offense, scoring 18 points on the night. Kambrey Jolley and Kaci Mangus each added 14 points.
Blue River defeated Daleville 41-35 on Monday. The Broncos were led by MiKayla Craig with 12 points. Kaylee Allen added 10 points and a team high eight rebounds.
Central’s Jayla Scaife was named the IBCA/Subway player of the week for her district. Scaife scored 40 points in a game against Richmond.
WRESTLING<QC>
Delta edged Central 34-30 in a dual. Noah Richardson (132), Luke Schliessman (138), Sage Coy (145) and Jacob Gray (170) won by pin for the Eagles. Austin Wable (113), Cory Cooper (120) and Mykal Taylor (195) each won by pin for Central.
